Unit Standards Included

Hygiene, Childcare & Safety

  • Implement hygiene practices for households and babies (NQF Level 2)

  • Perform basic life support and First Aid procedures (NQF Level 1)

  • Practice safety within the household, including CPR for adults & children (NQF Level 2)

  • Provide a safe and secure environment for Grade R children (NQF Level 2)

Nutrition, Feeding & Development

  • Provide nutritious feeding for toddlers and school-going children
    (Home, crèche or related environment NQF Level 2)

  • Prepare lunch boxes for school-going children

  • Implement activities to enhance language & communication development
    (Home or ECD environment NQF Level 2)

Home Management & Practical Skills

  • Proper operation and care of household appliances & electronics

  • Cook a decent family meal with confidence (NQF Level 3)

  • Set a table & assist with guest entertainment

  • Bake competently and follow recipes correctly

Certification

Learners receive a National Certificate in Domestic Services upon successful completion of all required unit standards and assessments.
